Our team has been paddling in the Rose Festival Dragon Boat Races for 26 years. We’re a mixed team, originally formed at the First Unitarian Church in downtown Portland. Over the years that initial common denominator has changed but our team spirit remains the same. It’s our mutual love of being out on the river and spotting wildlife combined with an intense hour of exercise that unites us all.

We’re a mix of ages and abilities, long-time friends and brand new acquaintances, good joke tellers (well, some are pretty lame) and good joke listeners, manic wildlife observers (loving the pair of bald eagles on Ross Island) two fabulous tillers and two excellent flag catchers – in other words, we’re awesome!
