Established in 2017, Team Taiwan (@taiwanpdx) is a Portland-based mixed dragon boat team rooted in the local Taiwanese community, bringing together members, family, and friends. What began as a group of paddlers with little to no experience has grown into a competitive crew made up of first-timers to veterans of the sport. What brings us together is our shared drive, passion and love of the sport. Additionally, many of us paddle year-round with local outrigger canoe clubs. We are grateful for the ongoing support of the Taiwanese Association of Greater Portland. The team proudly represents Taiwanese culture on and off the boat, blending tradition, teamwork and passion.
