Launched in 1997, Pink Phoenix™ is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower breast cancer survivors through the sport of dragon boating. We are a team committed to fostering sisterhood through our shared breast cancer diagnoses—the team’s only requirement for joining. As the first breast cancer dragon boat team in the U.S., we take pride in welcoming survivors and thrivers at every stage of their lives and regardless of their paddling experience.

Now in our 30th season, Pink Phoenix has over 100 members and practices 3 times a week, traveling regionally, nationally, and internationally for races. During the Rose Festival, we sponsor the Gorman Cup, an exhibition race where guest survivors join us in a zesty competition in memory of Michele Gorman, our first captain. This is a special race for us, allowing us to share our joy and strength with our community.
