Team Lethally Blind is a seasoned dragon boat crew made up primarily of blind and visually impaired paddlers, joined by a diverse set of teammates from all walks of life. With over 18 years of competition at the Portland Rose Festival, we bring a disciplined, precise approach to racing.
Our crew moves with power, driven by strong, synchronized strokes, guided by timing and connection. We rely on the rhythm of the boat, feeling each stroke and adjusting in unison. Our coach sharpens our tactics, while our steersperson and flag catcher keep us on track and balanced.

For us, competition is a driving force, but so is the community we build. Each season, we welcome new blind and visually impaired paddlers, along with teammates from all backgrounds, fostering a culture of support both on and off the water. Many of our blind and visually impaired paddlers feel very fortunate to have found a sport which does not require good eyesight, but which does require persistence and determination to compete.

Together, we race as a team and stand as a testament to the strength of collaboration, resilience, and community.
